Understanding the transaction
Tell us whether you are buying, selling, letting, renting or dealing with an existing property arrangement. The parties, property details, financing and documents already signed help define the work that may be needed.
Make any proposed completion date, signing appointment or response deadline clear from the outset. We need to consider the transaction and our ability to act before accepting an engagement.
Documents and questions to prepare
- A short description of the property and your role in the matter.
- The names of the other parties and any agents or financial institutions involved.
- A list of existing agreements, title documents and loan correspondence.
- Any questions about ownership, occupation, payment or authority to sign.
Keep the documents available for a later review. Do not send confidential copies with your first enquiry; we will explain what is required after the conflict check.
Scope and fees
Some matters follow the Solicitors’ Remuneration Order in force. Where a fee is to be agreed, the basis is recorded in writing before work starts. We also discuss the documents and steps included in the proposed engagement.
Sending an enquiry does not create a solicitor–client relationship. Wait for confirmation that we can act before relying on us to handle a transaction or deadline.
This service description provides general information, not legal advice about a particular property.
